On Amazon the bullets do the selling and the description does the reassuring. Most descriptions are written as if the opposite were true, which is why they are ignored.
Short answer
- Bullets carry the buying decision: five short, specific, parallel lines.
- The description answers what the bullets cannot: fit, compatibility, what is in the box, care, warranty.
- Repeat the key facts in prose so they survive the read-aloud and the mobile truncation.
- Cut every sentence that could be printed on any product in the category.
The five bullets
Each bullet is one benefit tied to one fact, in the same grammatical shape as the others so the block scans as a set.
- [outcome] — [the feature that causes it], [the number that proves it]
- Keep each line under about 200 characters; Amazon truncates beyond that.
- Order by the order a buyer asks: does it work, does it fit, is it easy, is it safe, what if it breaks.
The description, block by block
- Opening line: the product in one plain sentence, no adjectives doing the work of nouns.
- Fit and compatibility: exact model numbers, sizes, voltages. This block prevents the most returns.
- What is in the box: a literal list. Include the cable and the adapter if they are there.
- Care and warranty: how to clean it, and what happens if it fails.
- One closing line with the support route.
Phrases that mark the copy as generated
Category-inflation adjectives ('premium', 'revolutionary', 'game-changing'), the em-dash habit, and triads ('faster, smarter, safer'). Buyers read these as noise, and they take up the characters the facts needed.

Questions
How long should an Amazon description be?
Long enough for the five blocks, usually 150–300 words. Length is not the variable; specificity is.
Should the description repeat the bullets?
Repeat the facts, not the sentences. Different readers consume one or the other.
Does A+ content replace the description?
It replaces the visual layer for many buyers. Keep the text description complete for the ones who read it.
